Film: La Voix Humaine

Release date: 25th October 2020

Welsh National Opera recently collaborated with Claire and TMax Films to produce a version of Poulenc’s masterpiece La Voix Humaine, which is truly meant for the here and now. Not only filmed during lock down, it was filmed and recorded live in Claire’s own bedroom, where her accompanist Christopher Glynn played live in one room, while Claire performed upstairs! Dealing with such pertinent themes as loneliness and communication, La Voix Humaine really is an opera for these times, and this new film is available to stream through Welsh National Opera’s platforms by visiting

Claire and Chris have been involved in multiple productions of this French masterpiece, working with multi media designers and theatre directors, both on stage and on camera, in English translation and the original French.
